The Igbere Progressive Association UK & Ireland exists to build a bridge — between our members here who need support and solidarity, and the community back home that needs investment and care. We are both refuge and resource.
We are men and women from Igbere who made the journey to the United Kingdom and Ireland — leaving behind familiar faces, warm neighbourhoods, and the comfort of home. In a new land, we found each other.
The Igbere Progressive Association UK & Ireland was born out of that recognition: that we are stronger together. We meet, we share, we support. When one of us struggles, the others show up. When one succeeds, we all celebrate.
But our vision extends beyond ourselves. Time and again, we pool our resources to fund meaningful projects back home — for the elderly who shaped us, the youth who will carry the torch, and the community that lives in our hearts no matter how far we travel.
No member faces a difficult moment alone. We show up — practically, financially, and emotionally — for one another in our adopted cities.
We never forget where we came from. Regular contributions fund projects that improve life for the elderly, the young, and the wider Igbere community.
We create a home away from home — a space where Igbere culture, language, and warmth are kept alive across the miles.
We believe in growth — of our members, our community back home, and the legacy we leave for those who come after us.
